I will probably regret asking this, but:

OK, so Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston have been all over my dash on tumblr for a while (even though I am into neither Sherlock nor the Avengers and did not follow anyone for that particular content... somehow it gets in there) and I get that the internet loves these two and hugs them and squeezes them and calls them George. But can someone tell me exactly what it means to be "Sherlocked" or "Loki'd"? Are they just a way of saying "I am a screaming fangirl"? (no disrespect to those!)

I have no idea.

I also do not understand the plethora Jeremy Renner photos on my dash. He has to be one of the least attractive men I've ever seen.

"Sherlocked" is a, let's say, plot point in Sherlock 2x01. Here's a short explanation. Although according to the Urban Dictionary, it seems the term also means being a fan of the show. Huh, I didn't know that. And "Loki'd" is from this video (Tom Hiddleston playing pranks on some guy, Loki-style).

I don't know what it means for other people, but if I use it, it's a play on Adler's own use of the expression to indicate an obsession and fascination and crush on Sherlock (the character and the show).

So yes, shorthand for "I'm a squeeing fangirl", but this is something that has been true of me for a while with Snape.

Irene Adler, a character who appears in episode 1 of season 2.

Loki'd means, roughly, punkd. Pranked. Pwned with the trickery.

I have no idea what Sherlocked means, unless it's that ugly moment when you realize that the sociopath you've been hanging around with really does consider you dumber than the gum on his shoe.

To be "Sherlocked" is a reference to a scene in "A Scandal in Belgravia" where Sherlock spends a great deal of the episode trying to unlock Irene Adler's password protected cell phone. The cellphone password screen reads:

I Am

_ _ _ _

Locked

At the end of the episode he figures out the code, because he realizes that Irene loves him. Her code was 'S H E R', hence:

I Am

SHER

Locked

So now the fandom uses it to refer to crushing on, lusting after, or having feelings for Sherlock, or, more generally, to being obsessed over the show.

I think the Loki'd thing is just a play on the Sherlock thing, because it seems that suddenly, after seeing the Avengers, all the Sherlock fangirls are also in love with Loki.

It could even be a play on words: SherLOCKED... LoKEYED....
