I really don't have room for more books on my shelves, much less an entire second set of Harry Potter, but Jim Kay's illustrations are really proving tempting...

I'm cataloging Kiki's Delivery Service here at work, and its IMDB page claims it's referenced in the first two Harry Potter films, but does not elaborate on the details of what the references supposedly are. I'm skeptical that it's actually the case. Anyone have any idea what they might be talking about?

Spoiler for Pottermore CoS Ch 16 )

...Well then.

You heard it here first: Wizards used to poop on the floor.

For those who did not open the cut, I am not even making that up.

Whiskey, tango, foxtrot, Jo?

in the Chamber of Secrets Rifftrax...

Hat: I stand by what I said last year: you would have done well in Slytherin.
Harry: You're wrong.
Bill Corbett: Well, your mom had no complaints after I "Sorted" her. No, what? She didn't. It worked out for her and your dad.

[livejournal.com profile] esmestrella: *pauses the Rifftrax and frowns* I find that kind of offensive.
[livejournal.com profile] enotsola: [leering] I'll Sort you. ...I'm a Hatt*, you see.
E1: Oh? Oh yeah? Well so am I, now. *sneers*
E2: ...put you on my head.
E1: And Slytherin?
E2: ... *rimshot*
E1: *laughs*
E2: ...*rimshot*

Apparently that was so bad, it earned two rimshots. ^_-

A link from snapedom: Really awesome post analyzing Severus's office in the films, including some links to other sites. Includes some alchemy geekery. (This is from Feb 2007 so I apologize if any of you have already seen it.)

Does anyone know of any fics where Lucius communicates with memory-Tom via the diary he has in his possession prior to CoS?

lolsnape

[livejournal.com profile] _youngblood_ started this silliness on [livejournal.com profile] prof_snape. I fixed two of xirs which didn't have the canonical font style (the first two - I think the gag in the first one is particularly clever because of its double meaning) and added one myself. I do believe a monster has been created as I found myself writing out the various lol tropes with Mad-Libs-style blanks ("invisible _____", "im in ur _____ ___ing ur ____"...) so as to think of more of them. (I hope there's a good shot in GoF with Snape and Crouch, at least, and better a glimpse of Dumbledore, so I can do "He made you a Veritaserum but I drinked it".)

7.2 on the lulz scale )

Spent way too long trying to get this down under 40k. Ditched most of the windup (aww.). Cut to every other frame. Just couldn't make it (it's still over 80k). Gave up.

Starting to understand why when people make animated icons that involve whole frames of film, the shot is only taking up about 2/3 of the area of a 100x100 icon.
