Mm, typos happen, I'm a bit shit when it comes to my own editing.
You greatly over-estimate the writing powers of the average creative writing student. The hysterical thing is, you can tell the ones that started off in fanfic, because they have a much better idea of ahow to put a story together. Fanfic writers have been getting feedback (usually) since they were teenagers. The rest have just read a few Terry Pratchetts and think all you need to do is pastiche an established plot with a wizard.
Don't worry, I'll be gentle. Still trying to get time to read -- gah! Have been given teh vague instrauction, "We need to book a hotel for the weekend, but I don't know where we're going or how long we're staying for." Love my boss, but bloody hell!
