I saw an icon which said this floating around, but I appear to have lost track of it:

Knock, knock.
Who's there?
You know.
You know who?
Yes! AVADA KEDAVRA!

I was considering uploading my two drabbles and ficlet to FFN, just for shits and giggles, but apparently they don't want "second person/you based" stuff (which is what "Softer" is). *scratches head* This is in the same breath as "choose your adventure" and "Q&A" as types of "interactive" work, and I guess I can see why they wouldn't want the former*. But what's wrong with the second-person voice? Heck, I think I read a James/Severus one there which ended up like "and why should you? You're James Potter." I like the observational, character-thinking-to-themselves aspect which is still different than first-person. (Granted, in "Softer" I didn't name another character, so it gives a lot more feeling of just being the reader -- "interactive" -- but you could just as easily plug in any canon character you liked.)

Harumph. I dunno. I imagine this is the kind of place where it's not likely to attract much attention unless it's a really egregious offence, though.

Also not allowed: "Rewriting names of characters/locations of one story in order to upload to multiple categories." Yes, well, if you can do this and it still works, rather than giving a rather humourous effect, maybe you haven't written it very well in the first place, hon. I mean, characterization, you know. (PWP notwithstanding, perhaps, but there should still be some even in PWP. Otherwise, why not just write completely original fiction?)

"Copying from a previously published work (including musical lyrics) not in the public domain." Oh, right. Like there's no songfic on FFN. I get the feeling these rules are not terribly strictly enforced, perhaps because of sheer volume. (I have an RSS feed set up for fics containing Snape as a character, and it averages something like 40-50 new/updated ones every day.)

* That said, I read a silly PWP Choose Your Own Adventure fic once where the goal was to get Harry laid (owes a little to LSL I suppose), and it was actually pretty clever and enjoyable.

P.S. ALREADY? Goddamn! I only posted "Epitaph" a few minutes ago, considering a short learning curve on the relationship between "documents" and "stories", and there's already a review?? Someone else in the world must have a "contains severus" feed like mine, or maybe they feed the "newest postings" or something.

ETA: Oh. It was to point out the "no non-historical, non-fictional people" rule (=JKR). Like there's no other fic on FFN that involves whoever the author is. *deletes it anyway* Screw you guyz :P

*wiggles* People have submitted actual reviews for the things I just put up on FFN (two each so far), and really, it's only been a few hours (how the internet compresses our sense of time!). And they're all basically "nice job".

I feel.. weird.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I AM DOING OKAY

This actually makes me feel a little guilty that I am not likely going to be able to supply more. At least I have not been writing pr0n -- if my own "MOAR" reactions are any indication, I would feel terribly pressured to be on the other end of one of those!

How do you say "this is awesome and I would be happy if there was more, but I will love this just as it is even if you leave me in a permanent state of unrequitedness re: it" without putting any pressure on the author?
