Holiday cards were pitched in the mailbox this morning. Unfortunately I think that means the ones destined for further lands (relative to California) may arrive a little behind schedule. Ah well.

In other news, via bewarethesmirk: challenging the concept of a Mary Sue as problematic in a feminist context. (briefly: why is it ok for men and boys to have idealized, wish-fulfillment, power-fantasy characters, but not women and girls?)
