The point of that question being "a place where you would not otherwise have access to your own bookmarks", so having them online somewhere would be helpful.

Firefox's Sync is pretty easy (although I didn't like the aspect of having to create an account for it rather than being able to use my own webspace as I could with an extension I used to use) and I hear it's the same in Google Chrome.
