My previous car was also a Corolla, an '87 that was purchased in 1995 and still running fine with ~130k on it, but which could not be made to pass the new stricter smog laws in California in... 2005? (I actually bought my current car in 2004, and they coexisted for a while). That was the first car I ever owned, actually, after high school. I don't drive a whole lot, mainly because I only live less than 3 miles from work, so in three and a half years I've only put 23k on the new one. At that rate I'll have it well into middle age. Gotta love Toyotas for that ^_^
