I just saw a summary on FFN that mentioned Harry's godmother coming to fetch him when Sirius died. Obviously this is an OC and no such person is mentioned in canon, but it's an interesting idea; godparents usually come in pairs. Who do you think might have been Harry's godmother, if anyone?

Mary Macdonald? Do we even know any women of Lily's generation? Maybe one of the reasons why so many guys had their hearts set on Miss Evans, is because there was a shortage of females? Hm. But remember when Hargid gifted Harry with the photo album? He said something about all the photos coming from Lily and James's friends. I mean, who the hell were these "friends" and why haven't they ever popped up?

I don't think Harry had a godmother, it seems James was making all the choices in the Potter household and I suspect he was just going to wait for Sirius to marry.

Or at lest that's what my post-midnight can come up with. @_@

Mary Macdonald is the first name I came up with. She's mentioned twice, and that's the only hint of the rich friendship network Lily must have had before she started speaking to the Marauders.

I, too, thought of her, since she's mentioned by Lily as being one of her Gryff female friends.

There's a lot about Lupin that still remains unknown. 1981-1993 is just a blank slate. Though I think your right about Lupin being one of the "friends", as for the lack of contact. . . there's something very fishy there.

Lupin seemed really loath to admit to Harry that he and James were very close friends. Maybe he still felt angry at the Marauders betrayal of him? Did he feel somewhat responsible about Sirius?
