Not generally, at least not so far. They tend to be too expensive for the amount of enjoyment I get out of them, especially if you add in travel and hotel. But I really wanted to get to see David Tennant. In 2016 and 2017 he didn't show up at any cons anywhere near the west coast. I toyed around with going out to a con in San Antonio in the summer of 2016 but by the time I talked myself into it, the photo ops and such were sold out. In 2017 I ponied up for Wizard World Chicago as being the closest he was likely to get (and I guess, to be fair, that meeting him halfway from London is more like, idk, New York, but it's usually just not practical for me), and then he cancelled at the very last second (like, I learned about it at registration Friday morning) because of a family illness. At least they gave us all refunds about that. So when it came to be January this year and he was announced for ECCC, I was like, "this time, for sure!" And then when they announced him for SVCC I about fell off my chair and we bought tickets instantly right in the bar where we were.
My husband does have a kind of quest for himself to get some of his D&D books signed by all the people who do Critical Role, though, so we might be going to some more in the future. But it's not likely to be far travel. TwitchCon this year is at the same place in San Jose as SVCC was so we might put in a day's appearance at that.
