late autumn image (though we're not there yet)

Apparently my brain is feeling rhythmic today. This isn't really involving any specific characters (although I know who I'm picturing) or even any identifiable universe, so I don't think it can be called "fanfic", but neither does this really go in my other journal, so you all get to suffer. I am just so tired of not having any imagination anymore...

As we walk among the birch trees, their finery turned all to tarnished gold where they are not yet quite bare, he reaches for and takes my hand in silence. It is then I know he loves me; though he has both implied and said it, and the words have been momentous, still they often are too easy to be proof. But now, he reaches out with one hand to caress the paper bark, and the fingers of the other, all unthinking, seek my own and press them softly; it is this that shows me forth the yearning of his one soul for my other, through these meager means of closeness we call bodies.

Well, these little moments of crreativity you get in the midst of all your writer's block certainly are beautiful in the extreme. This almost made me cry. Great job! It was like one of those quiet, yet perfect moments that seem to make life worth living.

That was so beautiful! And while you might have had a certain character in mind, you did a really good job of keeping it vague enough to allow me to picture my own...and even imagine it was my hand he held...*sigh*
