It's part of an increasingly alcoholic series - Bad Elf (pale ale), Very Bad Elf (ale), Seriously Bad Elf (double ale), Criminally Bad Elf (barleywine), and Insanely Bad Elf (ditto, about 1% more alcohol than the last). They also brew (http://www.sheltonbrothers.com/beers/breweryProfile.asp?BreweryID=40) other such colourfully named holiday fare as Lump of Coal (which husband got in his stocking this year, natch), Reindeer's Revolt, and Santa's Butt.
