A few lessons ago, we covered the fact that no one is allowed to say "Sev" in seriousness, except Lily.

I see now that I should have made myself a bit clearer on this point.

"No one" extra-special-mega-double-dog includes the narrative voice.

You may not say "Sev" in a descriptive passage! omgwtf!

Now carry on.

I was just trying to see if there was in fact a nice bright "fixed star" opposite Sirius in the heavens (yes: Vega), so that I could respond smartassedly to nehalenia's comment that Snape was the "fixed star of [her] fanfic obsession", but get a load of this planisphere:
