Watching the live stream on MTV.com of the premiere in New York, and they just showed a clip of one of the hosts doing a bit with Emma, Dan, Rupert, and Tom about how to speak like an American. (American Talk with John Horowitz) I gotta say, Tom Felton does a pretty crazy good American accent and Rupert isn't too bad either, although he didn't quite eliminate the rhotic habit in his accent (sounding Rs that aren't there, e.g. pronouncing "saw" as "sawr"), making "mozzarella" come out a bit like "mozzareller".
Tom: So, what language do you speak?
Horowitz (sp?): American.
Tom: Oh, funny, I thought for a minute there it was English.
H.: No, American. It's the freedom language.
(tagging this with "world cup" because I wouldn't be listening to this if not for that, and they're supposed to be announcing the winner soon)
"Glenn Beck and Charlie Sheen? Why do you have these in the same list?"
"Because that's what Americans say."
"Twilight blows."
"Justin Bieber is the man."
("Boo-yah," an earlier item on the list, adds Tom.)
later edit: meh, I got some quotes mixed up there. well, that's what I get for trying to transcribe while still listening. look at the video yourself if you care.
edit 3:04 PM PDT: Alan Rickman is on now, if you're interested. Apparently Snape won (big surprise, although I'll be curious to see the percentages). "Have I got to get this [giant trophy] on the plane tomorrow? I hope this is chocolate."
edit later: Apparently the margin was "a landslide", but I haven't seen numbers yet.
