You know that thing Rowling said about the lack of toilets in early Hogwarts, and that in the old days wizards “simply relieved themselves wherever they stood, and vanished the evidence”? The more I think about it, the more it explains about Hogwarts.

I had a similar idea where it was Gryffindor and Slytherin having a very serious chat and Gryffindor suddenly gets really quiet, save for a grunting nose, beat with Slytherin looking at him in disgust and then "I hate you."

But this idea is much better.

Yeah, you know, the idea of other people somehow not noticing does rather depend on having great digestion and healthy bowels, so as to be able to poop silently. Or were people doing something like the equivalent of a very localized Muffliato? I HAVE QUESTIONS
