Severus stared sullenly out the rain-streaked window of the train.

"Have a bean, go on," said Regulus.

"Piss off." Severus listened to the rain beating an insistent and, he hoped, silencing tattoo.

"Don't make me put one in your mouth."

Regulus sounded a little too eager about that idea. "I'll have your fingers if you dare. Besides, they don't come in the flavour I’d really like to try."

"Oh? What flavour? You'd be surprised."

But Severus ignored Regulus and resumed watching the rain. And after that damned fiasco by the lake last term, now I'll never get to try it.

I suspect that Severus was quite emo as a teen. Part of being really smart and really uncomfortable in your own skin. (Well, that was my excuse anyways.)

Rather than comment on both, I'll cheat and tell you here that both of these are really good. Your Severus-voice is spot on. (I agree with your post about saying other characters are "in character" but that someone has the right "Snape-voice" in their story *g*)
