* It looks like an antelope to me, but it says "roe" on the coin, so.

No... you can see the Bible verse reference on the coin. In Song of Songs (aka Song of Solomon) the two lovers makes a lot of references to deer and to flowers. It's a little bizarre to read, because the metaphors ("Your breasts are like fawns, twins of a gazelle..") don't always translate well, but it's kinda hawt. Kinda. They even use poetic language to describe oral sex. Not exactly the sort of thing you'd think you'd read in the Bible...
