Dec. 6th, 2011 11:52 amCourtesy of sayurikemiko over on deviantArt, I am pleased to present the following hilarious GIFs of Adrien Brody "ranting" about how he would have been better casting for Snape than Alan Rickman, by sort of matching other words to his mouth movements (in the vein of BadLipReading).
If you really really think Alan's perfect and don't have at least a sense of humor about that, then these may not be the GIFs for you. Please note her warning/disclaimer:
If I offend your sensibilities in any way in regards to Alan Rickman’s portrayal of Snape, I apologize, and kindly recommend you look at something else. I honestly have nothing against Rickman, he’s a great actor in most things, I just can not stand his version of Snape. If you have an obscure and weird sense of humor in regards to a certain book character from HP, perhaps you’ll laugh.
The images are rather large (10-15 MB apiece), so give them a moment to load. They'll run more smoothly after all the frames have loaded.
1. Better casting for Snape
2. Continued
3. Vengeance begins
4. The epic conclusion

Sep. 21st, 2011 01:04 amHave just seen Julian Richings as Death at the end of SPN season 5 which husband is watching on DVD. Can haz as Snape? Perhaps in fantasy epilogue-era films, since he's nine years younger than Alan Rickman but that still presents an age problem. Just stick a long black wig on him. ( some pics )
Don't mind me, I'm just being odd.

(Why yes, I do sometimes worry that as an American I come off like that by default, even if I don't hear it myself.)

Well, I also have a wallpaper-changing program, so it'll be different in 60 minutes or less.
This is a

Why has no one written crack fic like this? Someone gets Transfigured into a couch because someone else talked in xir sleep, and then people put their
So have you been getting a load of the Harry Potter World Cup over on mtv.com? Here's a link to a nice, large, readable picture of the brackets. As you can see, one Severus Snape (no, just a Severus Snape - didn't you hear I come in six-packs?) is at the bottom of the top-left "Privet Drive" area. I'm pretty sure he's going to blow Vincent Crabbe out of the water, but I don't have enough of an idea about the whole audience of this thing to judge whether Flitwick is going to beat Trelawney or not. Harry and Severus are in the same part of the bracket so even if he makes it through a few rounds, he'll probably wind up against Harry, and I imagine the usual sort of people voting in this are going to vote for Harry, so that's sad. Voldemort is at the very bottom right (as Harry is top left); I wonder if they rigged the matches so as to give the best chance for Harry and Voldemort to come out in the final round. Hrm.

May. 11th, 2011 02:22 pmJust got this in at work to catalog:

How to Read This Book
If you're reading this sentence then you've pretty much got it. Good job. Just keep going the way you are.
...
When the stripper jumped out of the giant cake, everyone got excited. But when she jumped into the regular-sized cake, everyone got confused.
...
Everybody knew that you should never provoke a rattlesnake, much less tie it into a bow. But that didn't stop Judd. What did stop him was the rattlesnake.
...
99.99% of all castles in America are located in fish tanks.
Sorry, what was that? I can't hear you over the sound of my crush on Demetri Martin.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DemetriMartin (fairly safe as TVTropes pages go, not so much an endless rabbit hole that you will not extract yourself from for days - in fact, I didn't click a single link)

(found reblogged in http://bignosesaresexy.tumblr.com/ - lol, bonus for all the Snape folks I know are out there, amirite?)

(Despite his dewy young looks which have often made me wonder if he was barely 18 when I've seen him on TV shows, apparently he was actually born in 1973. So have at 'im if you like, you other thirty- and forty-somethings.)

May. 10th, 2011 12:45 amI don't have any pictures of my supposed Aurora Sinistra costume. Didn't get a chance to take any before leaving home, and taking pictures of myself in a hotel room that's not so well lit is tricky. Nobody seemed to notice I was in fact wearing a costume meant to be looked at (if not easily recognized), anyway, even when I was carrying either of my props around (star globe or collapsible telescope). I did get a few compliments on my hat, though, so apparently I could have saved myself considerable money, time, and grief by just going with that and eschewing the rest of the ensemble. Given that I don't think I am going to try to find room in my budget for any costumes for Lubricus.
( Pics this way... )
Welp, that's all the news that's fit to print.
