I'm getting a little burnt out on hd_worldcup. It's not just that many of the fics are long, because there have been a good number of more manageable ones (<10k), too. I think it's just that I don't care enough. I developed a little taste for Harry/Draco a couple of months ago, but I think the "problem" is that it's just that: a little taste, something I can't really feed on a steady diet of. I'm not yet having the same problem with snarry_games, even though Severus/Harry isn't really one of my top pairings and I am not as filled with squee as some other people are.

Blah. And here I thought I was joking when I said "my little neurons don't want none unless it's got Snape, hon".

Ah, fear not! hp_wankfest is due to start posting on May 1 and we can assure you of non-pairing-specific diversions. Most of which you'll be able to read on your coffee break, or over lunch or (perhaps more appropriately) as a bedtime story.

I think you're signed up over there already, but if not, there's still time. :-D

I read short stuff (<5k) at work some, but most things are read after work. I don't get breaks per se. Occasionally I do sit and read something longer while I'm here but I have other projects at the moment, which is part of the reason I'm in such time debt. hp_wankfest is really only going to compound the problem. ;) But actually I'll probably just pick out a few characters to read in that fest.

I think it's just the sheer number of fests this time of year, four that i can think of right now alone. I'm not a h/d shipper but I did enjoy a few fics muchly over there and I'm really loving the Snarry games *being my OTP* Squeeee.

What are your top pairings then?

Severus/Sirius, Severus/Lily, Severus/Regulus, Severus/James (if they play "nice" -- hate!sex ok, no rape/abuse, which is all too common in that pairing).

Threesomes, Severus/Sirius/Regulus, Severus/Sirius/Lily, Severus/James/Sirius, and I don't mind Remus in the mix if it's Severus/Lily/Remus (I don't care for Severus/Remus, or Sirius/Remus for that matter).

I do like Severus/Harry, I just don't have time to seek it out with the gusto I do some other pairings, especially since there's so much of it.

I'll also read Sirius/Regulus, Harry/Draco, and Fred/George, although my taste on the last is a little odd. If we're just talking PWP, I tend to find it a little boring by itself; I liked, um, nishizono's, I think it was, "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" where they were looking in on Sirius and Harry (which itself is not normally a pairing I'm keen on).

I don't mind Severus/Draco(/Harry), Severus/Lucius, Sirius/Remus if a fic otherwise recommends itself to me, but they don't "do it" for me by themselves and I don't seek them out.

It's funny -- I was thinking about this the other day and to a certain degree, who I like to see Severus paired with comes down to who has features I myself might find attractive. For example, Sirius, Regulus, James, and Harry all have dark hair, whereas Draco and Lucius, who I'm not that up for, are both blondes. I really don't find anything attractive about Hermione; presto, I can't deal with Severus/Hermione.

I'm not fond of Harry/Draco either, on their own, yet put Snape in there and it's my OT3. Tastes are weird sometimes!

The entries in the snarry games are really top quality and maybe that's why? I'm not following hd worldcup though so I can't compare =)

I know what you mean. I like to read pairings outside my regulars, but too much and it gets old.
