Cool, but I'm also sort of sad for some reason. Oh well, you know me - I always hate change. I really need to work on that. What does it mean (the new name I mean), if you don't mind my asking.

I had picked it out as nonsense syllables that I thought sounded good, but I got a comment from six_of_one (the_bitter_word) that she'd Googled up that it meant "healer". I couldn't find a similar citation so asked where she saw that, although I did find it being used as a race in a Star Trek manga, a world name in someone's Dungeons & Dragons game, and as a name or descriptor for a "thirteenth Muse", as near as I can tell the muse of prose writing (!), in a rather odd book called "Masques & Phases".
The change was urged by a certain personage, though, actually. Not to this specifically, just to something of the type. It turned out that my first choice was already taken on ... well now, wait a minute. I just checked it again on LJ/IJ/DW and it's not being used as an alias on FFN either. WTF? I guess Gmail, maybe, because I wanted to make an account with the same name, but then elethian is already taken there too. Now I'm really confused. I could have sworn.. ah well, it's done now (at a cost of $20 for the two rename tokens, heh).
If the person who prompted the change is who I assumed, the meaning of 'healer' is not surprising. Nor would the Muse of prose writing, come to think of it.

Apparently Elethia/Elethea may be a variant from Althea, which does mean "healer" or "wholesome". So yeah. Weird, eh?
On the topic of interesting coincidences, a couple of weeks ago while Gord and I were at a local shop called Cooks Junction to pick up a second Aeropress for Gord to take back to Canada as a gift for someone). They had a display at the front of the store with Armetale tableware, including this goblet which I immediately picked up and fondled and thought would make a nice replacement "bonding" cup (since I'd managed to ruin the one I had been using). I wasn't prepared to buy it that day, but I made a note of it because of the nice way it sat in my hand.
I went back today to buy the thing, and they said, oh, we moved all that stuff down to our sister store down the street which is going out of business, what was it you were looking for? I described the goblet and the clerk said yeah, I think they had one of those. The past tense worried me, since with closeout sale that would probably mean "the last one ever", but not only was it still there, but I got it for 30% off from the sale.
All this is mildly interesting, but what really added flavour was that this second shop's name was Janus. (See verus_janus/janus/janus if that doesn't make sense.)
You want to know weirder yet ;-). My husband and I have had a middle name picked out for a daughter, if we ever have one, for almost 6 years now, and that name is Elethia. Wow, the universe is a weird place.
