Oh, absolutely, and as far as "impede or enhance", it usually stops me completely. And you wondered why I haven't posted any fic in almost six months. (I was going to say "over a year", because I was thinking of the stuff I wrote for less_for_you in 2008, but it turns out there have been a couple sprinkles on the desert since then, including Sweet Root which I had apparently forgotten about.)

Yes, I imagine how others will react to it as well, but I tend to post it even if I'm meh about it, simply because a lot of times the "meh" is just me overthinking something. Many times I felt ambivalent about something and was going to trash it, then have come back to it the next day, and said, "Y'know... this isn't so bad... just a little tweaking...."

And there is also the fact that I'm a comment whore, and if I didn't post, then who would comment? My birds, perhaps, but then they can be little suck-ups, especially when treats are involved.

The inner critic can be brutal. I find I am better at turning it off sometimes than I am at others, and I have yet to figure what it is that triggers it. I find that when I can get into 'flow' and stay there for a series of days, I am thinking with my logical mind so little that it seems to shut the inner critic up fairly effectively, but then the tiniest little thing can knock me out of 'flow' or the ability to get back into for months on end. The Muse/Artist relationship and dynamic is a mystery and certainly prone to frustrations galore.

Thank you for the complement, but what you've seen is the censored stuff. Nothing else has got past that internal judge lately, if it even got started in the first place (which it doesn't often).
