So did you hear that instead of suspending accounts in a willy-nilly panic over "child porn" and such, as LJ did, Dreamwidth told PayPal where to stick it when asked to take down material that was in fact legal free speech, and will be taking their business elsewhere?

Have you heard that Google is also basically telling China to stick it, that they refuse to participate in censorship and propaganda? Yay Google, and Yay Dreamwidth. They restore the faith that I never had in my fellow man.

LOVE IT! I have a Dreamwidth account...and now I have to use it more to support them! No decent person would support child porn, but often banners like that are used as a cover to censor art and literature that certain people deem should not exsist. It's about time we start fighting back!

I have never actually been a little proud to be part of an online social networking blog before. It's actually kind of awesome. :)

I wonder if you can buy permanent accounts there.... because I'd be tempted to sell this one in favor of that.

They offered what they call "Seed Accounts" last year when they were starting to sell accounts. Somewhat like LJ and IJ, though, I don't think there's any specific pattern to when they would be selling them again.
