Speaking of fic recs, here's a bunch of stuff I've had simmering in my to-rec folder for a long time. Where my comments were fairly long I'm linking to them on the original post, rather than paste them here, but beware spoilers therein (I tend to pick out favorite lines and may talk about plot twists or the like). There's a good deal of Severus/Sirius in this batch, as well as some gen, dark, Severus/Harry, a little sort of Severus/Lily, and (unusually for me) two items with Severus/Minerva and Severus/Pomona respectively.

My comment: "Unusual concept, but I like it. I was drooling over the idea of a stoned, languid, pleasured, beautiful young Severus being photographed by someone who sees that in him." This fic could use a little editing, and as the author says you could possibly consider it OOC, but something about it hit my spot.

My comment: "All of this is great! I love everyone's lines, so much fun banter." Although genderswap is usually not to my taste, this was just silly and fun.

Somewhere in the attic of a well-known residence, there is a portrait of Severus Snape. Like any painting, it never ages or grows any older. So where’s the story in that?

What lengths will the Headmaster go to in order to keep his newly appointed Potions master right where he wants him? Warnings: angst, violence, non-graphic torture.
My comment: "Wow... that was hard, reading about all that emotional torture Severus underwent. I wanted to cry at several points." This one really is a hard slog on that front, with a very creepy, rather evil (in my opinion) Dumbledore, so caveat lector (lectrix?).

Pomona Sprout performs a melancholy duty in fulfillment of a promise she made to Severus years before he died.
I appear not to have left a comment on this, but it has 5 pages of them, so I don't feel too bad about that. Don't run and hide from the pairing; I did when I saw it pass by on my flist, but then I saw recs for it and decided to give it a chance, and I suggest you do too. (It's tenderly handled, mostly fondness, and the actual "shippy" content is very mild, at the end.) The Janus rose is a wonderful invention of a magical plant, especially for what it says about Severus.
Favorite line: Underneath all the seriousness, which became so dour with the passing of time, he'd had a strong sense of humour and even of whimsy. She laughed aloud suddenly — like the time he'd bewitched Sybill's tea leaves to spell out "YOU ARE ALL REALLY DOOMED THIS TIME" at breakfast the day after she'd thrown him out of Divination classes for an excess of cynicism.
