Apparently Cursed Child has been nominated for a bunch of Tony awards. Best Costume Design, Best Scenic Design, Best Lighting, Best Choreography (?? where does dance come into it? did they turn it into a musical on Broadway or something?), Best Sound Design, Best Leading Actor in a Play, Best Featured Actor and Actress in a Play, even Best Direction: sure, why not, I dunno. I'm sure the design and all was lovely and the actors did well. But also... Best Play? Really? This is very much armchair skepticism as I've only read it, not seen it, but really?

Warner Bros. trademarks 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' name, possibly for film
It seems like fans' wishes for a possible Harry Potter and the Cursed Child adaptation to the film screen might slowly be coming to fruition. If this is true, the eighth story in Harry Potter's saga, post-Deathly Hallows epilogue, would be the ninth (and maybe tenth if split into two) feature film.

Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. recently trademarked the name 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child', and this can include rights to everything from films to merchandise. The trademark was set in the U.K. though the company listed is Warner Bros. in the U.S., the production company behind the first eight Harry Potter movies.
Ugh, please no. I mean, not at all surprising that they trademarked it. Of course they did. But if anything I've heard about that play is true, Merlin preserve us from a film, or two films (which it probably would be since isn't there going to be more than one play, or something?).
