LOL,
wrisomifu. For those who can't hack NaNoWriMo, there is Write Something You Miserable Fuck! Never mind novels or fic, just do 10 minutes a day of whatever crap you can possibly squeeze out.
...How sad is it that I know I can't even do that? (because despite it being permitted, I know you don't want 10 minutes a day of shopping lists.)

Prompt tables don't help for their intended purpose. (Well, I managed to squeeze a little over 7k of rambling Severus/Sirius out of one once, but it wasn't going anywhere and, regardless, I haven't been able to repeat the feat.) Commentary on why I do or don't like a prompt is a new idea, but... what would I say? I'm almost always neutral on prompts considered as free-floating ideas. (ferex, Why do I or do I not like "moon" as a prompt? I mean... ?) I highly doubt I could get to 10 minutes unless there was some very bizarre material.

Date: October 23rd, 2009 02:42 am (UTC)From:Um. Yeah. I could always ramble for ten minutes; the problem is getting ten uninterrupted minutes to work. (And coming up with something more useful to write than free association ramblings. They're more entertaining than grocery lists, but not, I think, more useful to me as a writer.)
And why don't I have a "writing" icon? I must fix this.

This, too. "Interruption" per se isn't quite the right word for my problem, but close enough. At work I have too many other things I ought to be doing (didn't used to be the case; when I worked supervising public service area, much as I hated it, there was little to do minute to minute and in 2007-2008 that's actually when I wrote most of my fic); at home it's more a problem of privacy than interruption. But overall "lack of opportunity", we could call it.
