What the heck are these "snowflakes" my flist is abuzz with today?

(apparently nobody loves me, or I'd know already. heh.)

edit: Oh, v-gifts, okay. I have those disabled (and knew that I did). But the posts I skimmed on my flist weren't saying that's what it was, just squeeing "thanks for the snowflakes!" like it was obvious, and I wondered what the heck I was missing.

Even though the con is over six months away, I'm vaguely contemplating whether to do an SS/LE meetup at Infinitus. I'd like to, but I'm utterly unable to have a clue when it comes to venue since I live ~2450 miles away (as the great circle flies; add 400 miles on the ground). I'm wondering if it might be better to contact programming enough ahead of time that we could get one of the con meeting rooms, becuase keeping cost down is always good, but maybe there's something simply smashing in walking distance that I'm just not aware of? And what's this "CityWalk" thing that appears to be part of the resort complex?

This is very much preliminary interest gauging / general brainstorming time, so anything goes.
