logospilgrim will be bringing with her to Infinitus. I would kind of like to have a special outfit for the ball (besides Hogwarts uniform; note to self, still need grey SS/CoS-style skirt, if possible), not that I'm likely to hang around more than half an hour or so, but--why? Besides practical considerations like cost and luggage space, I can tell that it would just be another attempt to patch the Empty Place with stuff, which never works. There is nothing I can buy or wear that would ever make me pretty. I've learnt the lesson many times over that it's never anything more than a waste of money.
edit: The point is not to solicit suggestions for how to reduce the cost or for costume ideas that would take up less space in my luggage. The point is that anything at all could only be a waste of time and money because there is no piece of clothing that can fix what's wrong with me, and I can tell that the desire to buy something fancy is just an attempt to do so.
