Is there any way to contact someone on tumblr besides their "ask" box? What I really want to do is leave a comment directly on a post (because it happens to be a photo that belongs to me, and I just wanted to provide original links, not to mention explain the subject of the photo because it is rather bizarre!), but for the life of me I can't find a way to do that either (is it that they have to have turned on Disqus?), and "Ask" won't let you include html links, which I need to do in this case. Um.

I don't think so. Tumblr has so many flaws.

You can only contact them through their ask, however you should be able to put links in there.

(Lisa here) It gave me an error message, "You can't put links in a question" or something like that. Basically saying "no HTML". Gord suggests I try dropping http: off the beginning and I'll see if that works when we get back later tonight.

Well bugger me. You can't post links in ask. I just tried. I could have sworn that we used to be able to, but they changed a lot of stuff recently, and I wonder if that is something that got changed. Bummer. The only other thing I can think of is if they have a Contact Widget. I use that on my Tumblrs, but not a lot of people have that. It will usually show up as a little floating button to the left or right of the page.

In fact, I wound up having to mung the link with a lot of spaces like on Fanfiction.net. They have some pretty strict link detection. ("Questions cannot contain links" I think was the actual error.)

yeah, I went in and tried it out for myself last night, and then walked away from the computer and went to bed without remembering to message you back about it. Just sent the message I had been composing this morning, and then saw that you had already responded.
