edit: apparently this crosspost to LJ failed. apologies to those who see it more than once on DW and IJ.
I've been building these up for a while (there are... 17?), so I'm omitting the quotes from the fics I would usually give.

Severus/Lily, teen+, 23077 words
Author's summary: In the aftermath of the War, Snape has resigned himself to life. But when fresh horror emerges from beneath Malfoy Manor, will he be able to make the ultimate sacrifice one more time?
My comment: "The general idea of crossing worlds like this has of course been done [the author expressed concern in A/N that the idea was unoriginal], but I don't think I've personally read another fic that uses the particular device and details you did here. Anyway, a story like this is like to renew one's faith in Severus/Lily fic, which seems to have fallen from its brief day in the sun after Deathly Hallows. It has all that delicious angst resolved at last in tenderness that I used to love in this ship when I started reading it back in 2007."

Severus/Lily, teen+, 18373 words
Author's summary: The scent of hope.
My comment: "Another interesting choice for an AU point. Again, the idea of "Severus and Lily didn't fall out permanently in school" has been done, but I don't think I've seen someone make Mulciber get expelled for "The Macdonald incident" and use that as a turning point for Sev. I love your description of Sev's earnest intensity and devotion - rather sexy (I agree with Lily ;))."

Gryffindor class of '96 plus Hogwarts staff, G, 2400 words
Author's summary: None given, but this snippet from the introductory poem probably says it:
For what generation could pull off their tricks
Like the Gryffindor class of nineteen ninety-six?
It just marked another great step in their plan.
And now, you can learn how the business began.
My comment: Was not very illuminating, so I'll just say that this is quite a funny little fic.

one-sided Regulus Black/Severus Snape, one-sided everyone/Lily Evans, Lucius Malfoy/Narcissa Malfoy; R, about 23000 words
Author's summary: The rise of Severus Snape, who was born miserable and low, and had nowhere to go, really, but up.
Author's warnings: Canonical character deaths. This has a very high body count. Also, racism and references to abortion.
My comment: "Wow. How can I possibly add anything to what others have said? I know I am missing the originals in the style homage here, but I still found it thoroughly enjoyable, even darkly hilarious, in its wonderfully sly tone. It took me a while to figure out who everyone was through all the nicknames at first but it's all rather amusing. You've got Potter nailed (oh, if only it were literally *evil grin*) and I like your take on Severus's love for Lily, capturing both the devoted and the selfish aspects of it."

about Severus, though not directly depicted, PG
Within these walls, a wizard came of age. Three glimpses of Severus Snape's childhood home with key spells recalled.
Author's warnings: Did not really address the content, so I will say: potentially disturbing references to use of Dark magic on people and animals and to things that sound like intrafamilial abuse.
