Well, seriously. In the book he basically hands Harry's ass back to him on a platter because Harry is trying to duel out of rage without thinking very much (and also, at this point anyway, Severus is clearly just a better wizard than Harry), and in this little clip he similarly just blocks the spell and knocks Harry flat on his keister. What would you call it?

In the movie-verse he is weaker overall as a character, and perhaps they thought he should be made more impressive if he was going to be pitted against Harry like this. I.e. perhaps the general audience has the idea that he would seem to be not enough of an enemy otherwise? I don't know quite how to explain what I'm getting at here.
