Emma Watson's gotten all involved with the high fashion world. She just did a photo campaign for Burberry, the British clothing company that's known for khaki trench coats. http://women.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/women/celebrity/article6464163.ece
The movies play up so many creepy cultural things about stereotypical beauty= moral goodness. Book Hermione looks nothing like that model thing Emma Watson has become. But we're supposed to identify with beautiful movie Hermione, and we're supposed to dislike Lavender because she looks kind of dumpy in the smock top and dowdy sweater.
Hm, Indeed. A friend commented to me recently, that what WB did was change geeky Hermione into the sort of girl who bullied and snubbed you at school. It really ruined the movie character for her, and Kami truly hated the blonde hair Emma Watson sports in HBP. She's been repeating her dislike quite often to me. ; ) It's not as bad as that Twilight movie though, that's just a supermodel catwalk.
I really hate how so much of hollywood and television centers around the actors looks, did you here about the IMAX poster for OotP? They photoshopped Hermione so that her waist was skinner and her breasts were bigger. Heaven forbid that there might be a an inch of fat! *gasp* Or acne!
JKR has said that she doesn't support such views, but what about Ginny? She was normal, flawed and awkward from Books 1-4 and then suddenly she gets a boyfriend in 5 and she's "Miss Perfect". She's brilliant at sports, a powerful spellcaster, has a sharp sense of humor, strong willed, über confidant and so hot that even the pureblood sytherins are checking her out. "The Hot Girl" goes out the "The Jock", I truly hate that cliche, it's the same with Lily and James.
I think 90% of the evil or mean spirited characters in the book are ugly, fat or greasy. There's an obsession in our society with the outward appearance, I don't think Jo has truly shaken off the view.
Anyway! Interesting poster of Draco, I like the background.
Is it just me, or is the actress playing Lavender a little older then 16? *laughs* Yes, there is a slight Mrs. Weasley look, but I think she's got the perfect supplicant expression on her face. Any moment she'll be pouncing on "Won-Won"
I agree with the weird Ginny/Harry, Lily/James comparison. It's looks terribly opedial, especially since Ginny and Lily's personalities are so similar. Wow, just realized. . . if Lily had lived, she would have been a grandmother at age 45. That's another issue i have with Jo, why do all the witches have kids so young?
Obviously, Lavender must have given him a little sumthin'-sumthin' to get him all cocky like that (no pun intended). First sexual encounters have a way of doing that to youngsters. They think they invented the damned thing.
I'm sure I've seen that pose from the Draco poster before - possibly Nosferatu or Dracula - something vampiric anyway. D'you think Warners are trying to tell us something? and can they be sued for plagarism?
I think this must be the only and last time that Ron Weasley feels that much confidence. I agree with Mimi, Lavendar must have just given him a little sumthin' ;-). God knows Hermione's not about to put up with his whining and shit. Poor Ron *shakes head*.
The poster of Draco looks wonderfully dramatic, what with the doors opening, and the gorgeous dark blue background.
Bwahaha, the Ron and Lavender poster is so random. Wonder why Lavender looks plain here? She looked rather pretty in the other photos I've seen of her online.
Although I see what she's getting at about the posters in question, I have to take exception to this remark, though:
If you were a teenaged girl, who would you rather go out with? Which one of these guys seems more potent and manly?
I'll take the less "potent and manly" (especially "manly", ugh) one, thanks. Lose the Quidditch gear and the ludicrously upright broom, Ronniekins, and maybe we can talk. Always did like shaggy-haired redheads.

There's this weird incestuous vibe, too. Lavender looks like Mrs. Weasley.
Dude, you're right! Ew!
If there's going to be incest going on it should be Fred and Georgeno subject
