I wondered that, but no, these are apparently Severus's letters being talked about (the "thrice" would seem to be Lily, James, and Harry). There's only one chapter in the story so far and it's not epistolary, so... hard to tell, but I doubt "un-candid" is really what's meant in that case. A gaffe for "unedited" is a good suggestion, but yeah, "uncandied"? If I type that into Google it in fact assumes I must have meant "uncandid" and gives me those results instead. So.... I dunno.
