Okay, brain. How about the next time you feel the urge to spend hours writing 3600 words, we make it something worthwhile, even useful, like, oh, one of those fanfics you've been sitting on* for four to six years? Not RPF, and smut RPF at that? No, I do not care that it began life as a legitimate record of a dream. If you were just tacking on a short bit of ending, maybe. But have some sense of proportion: you took a 700-word start and went way off the rails on a crazy train!

eta: I just realized it sounds like I was intending to disparage RPF in general here as "not worthwhile", the same way a lot of people talk down about fanfic. That isn't my intent at all. Please, do write RPF if that's your cuppa. (I've enjoyed some I've read, too, including smut RPF.) I just meant it isn't what I'd rather my own brain was doing with its CPU cycles.

(@!&#(@!!! Apparently the release of the IMAX version of HBP has been pushed back to the 29th of July, except for one theater in NY and one in LA. Not that the Metreon can't screen regular films, but damn it, I paid extra for those tickets with Azkatraz!

Bah! Why'd WB have to go and move the release date of HBP again? (Real answer: it's summer and weekdays act a lot like weekends = more box office on opening week.) Don't get me wrong, the earlier the better in one sense, but as far as Azkatraz, I'm going to lose all the personal cred I would have given myself for my very first costumed geeky opening-day midnight viewing of any movie ever. There's little point bothering to go see it a couple days earlier, either, because most of the fun was going to be sharing that fact with a bunch of other obsessed fans, and now I'm not going to be. Feh.
