Oh my god you guys. This person seriously needs to chill.


As you can see, these are reviews (comments) left on Summer Shade. That fic is 17 years old at this point, and clearly says right at the top in the author's note:
1. It was written for a Severus/Lily-specific exchange (less_for_you) and gives the prompt I was trying to fulfill, which includes "what-if scenario".
2. Acknowledges that it presupposes an AU from canon.

And they go and lead off with "I don't think the premise is realistic". LMAO. I think you have come to the wrong place, buddy. They then go on for almost 2500 words (half the length of the fic itself!) about how James abused Snape (as if I didn't know) and Lily was an awful friend ("sociopathically sadistic monster", even, as you can see in the screenshot). Are they seriously still doing this kind of Snape discourse out there in the world? Crikey. I don't think I'm even going to read all this screed, much less approve the guest reviews.

I assembled this so I could throw some recs at Veronika-Art without pasting a huge list of links in a comment or trying to upload something to my DA sta.sh, and thought what the hey, it might benefit the masses. It's generated from the spreadsheet I keep to catalog my fic collection and is the fruit of almost 13 1/2 years of collecting (!).

Please note: All the links here should work (I checked a bunch of things and disincluded those that had vanished since I collected them), but if you do find one broken, let me know. Some links may be friends/community-locked, require being logged in on the site in question, or require an age verification. Some fics may also include other Severus or Lily pairings, or pairings of other characters, even where this is not indicated (I don't have complete information on that in the spreadsheet).

Edited 12/17/20: I added word counts, more ratings where available, and improved the formatting by not including blank lines for summaries/notes/etc. where those were not extant or readily available. Found alternate links for a couple of things that had previously been omitted because the link I had was broken, and there are also some additional Sev/Lily unrequited things that were initially omitted.

Setting is fourth year to avoid any canon clash, but in my head-canon, this changes everything :) (just not within the scope of this short fic).
